TEIXEIRA PEIXOTO
His work focuses on contributing to and guiding organizations and projects, both public and private, toward real and impactful transformation in business and relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Through consulting and specialized work in the areas of sustainability, environmental law, strategic, structural, and complex litigation on environmental, climate, and ESG corporate integrity issues, his approach seeks to provide a broad and differentiated perspective on the multiple challenges faced today. He is a professor in executive education and graduate programs in environmental law, compliance, and corporate governance. He is a member of the ESG MBA program at FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) Executive Education, teaching environmental law and socio-environmental impact assessment. He is a member of research groups and of outreach and advanced practice activities at the University of São Paulo Law School (FD-USP) and the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He supports advocacy and intersectional initiatives on topics such as anti-corruption, the environment, governance and public integrity, and sustainability regulation in national and international civil society organizations, such as the Mining Observatory and Transparency International - Brazil. He is a research member of the global Harmony with Nature Knowledge Network Experts (HwN-ONU). He is currently a PhD candidate in environmental law at the University of São Paulo Law School (FD-USP), focusing on corporate climate litigation, economic and climate regulation, and corporate ESG duties. He holds a master's degree in environmental law, with an emphasis on international law and sustainability, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He specializes in environmental and urban law (Unicesusc). Implementer and Lead Auditor for Compliance Management Systems (ISO 37.301) and Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ISO 37.001), and is certified by the ABNT PR 2030:2022 Recommended Practice – ESG. He was part of the first class in the country to complete the Executive Training Course in Compliance and Governance in the Public Sector at Insper-SP. He is trained and certified in the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) Standards and Norms, a global framework for corporate and organizational sustainability reporting. He has an extension in Environmental, Social, Governance, and Data Protection (ESG&D) Compliance from PUC-Rio. Between 2021 and 2022, he served as Integrity and Compliance Manager at the Santa Catarina State Comptroller General's Office (CGE-SC), focusing on the coordination and implementation of Integrity and Compliance Programs in public agencies and entities in Santa Catarina. He contributed with specific and structured analyses of public integrity risks and structures, training, creation of manuals, control mechanisms, and legal regulation of the topic within the state. He is the author of dozens of analyses and texts with wide repercussions in scientific journals and periodicals, as well as on renowned political and legal portals and websites in the country. He is the author of the work “Compliance in Environmental Law: licensing, ESG and regulation”, published by Editora Fórum, a winning work in the 2022 national call for proposals, promoted by the same publisher.
